The official Android Oreo update for the AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile LG V30 has been available for some time, so it was only fair that the open market variant (US998) also received its update soon. This update can also be used by the US Cellular V30/V30+, as this particular carrier variant is identical to the carrier unlocked model that is sold by authorized retailers like Best Buy and others. One notable difference between the two is that the open market variant is eligible for bootloader unlocking, while the US Cellular variant is not, with their eligibility segregated through their IMEI ranges.
The Android Oreo update has not shown up on LG Bridge, LG’s software updater program. But worry not, because you can manually flash the KDZ image via LGUP on the US998 V30 and V30+. This update brings the device up to the March security patch level along with all the Oreo goodies such as Picture-in-Picture mode, notification channels, background app optimizations, the Autofill API, and more. You can find instructions for flashing as well as the required files at the forum link below. If you prefer to use LG Bridge, the link is available in the thread for when it arrives.
