Mobile gaming is a lucrative market for developers to invest in, but it’s also pretty difficult to break into due to the immense competition. Games like Super Mario Run, Pokémon Go, PUBG Mobile, and the upcoming Fortnite Mobile are some of the major games from the biggest players on the Google Play Store. There are so many games available on Android that it’s hard to stay up to date with the latest news for not only the games you already play but also games you haven’t played yet. That’s where Google Play Games new “Hub” page will come in handy.
First discovered by XDA Recognized Developer Quinny899 and confirmed by XDA, the “Hub” page serves as a news feed for games you have installed on your device. It also lists news on “Trending” games, which as you might expect, is full of popular games like ROBLOX, Pokémon Go, and PUBG Mobile. The “Hub” page doesn’t seem to be as customizable as Google Feed (you can’t dismiss news stories or train the algorithm to show you more or fewer stories from a particular publication) but at least you don’t need to tell it to show you news about games you’re clearly interested in (because you have them installed already.)
The feature is currently in testing. We’re not sure when it’ll roll out to users or if it’ll gain more features before it’s widely available. The version of Google Play Games we tested this feature on is version 5.10.6082 from the Google Play Store which you can download from the link below.

I’m sure many Android gamers will agree that there isn’t really a perfect place to stay up to date on the latest Android games. At XDA, we don’t cover mobile games all that often outside of the occasional major game release, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like the “Hub” page on Play Games will help you find the best new indie games either.
