Only two weeks remain before the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ are officially unveiled ahead of Mobile World Congress this month. By now, we know a lot about the phones, including various hardware and software features. We have seen renders upon renders of the devices. We have even seen the new DeX pad for the Galaxy S9. On a hardware level, the phones are set to be incremental upgrades over the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+, with new processors, a new camera, and a different placement for the fingerprint sensor.
However, there are still two weeks to go, and we are certain to see even more leaks in the time leading up to the launch event. In keeping with the pace of leaks, Roland Quandt of WinFuture has leaked many official accessories for the Galaxy S9 and the S9+. The accessories are in the form of cases such as an LED View, ClearView, Silicone, Alcantara, and more.
For years, Samsung has launched a portfolio of official cases alongside its flagship smartphones. Users can buy official cases such as the LED View, ClearView, Silicone, Protective Standing Cover, and Alcantara for the Galaxy S8 and the S8+. These cases will all make a return for the Galaxy S9 and the S9+.
The descriptions of the cases are self-explanatory. The Alcantara fabric, for example, is used in the Microsoft Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop, and is supposed to be a premium soft feeling case for Samsung’s flagship phones. Silicone, on the other hand, has been popular for quite a few years because of its flexibility, while ClearView is Samsung’s official flip cover. Lastly, the Protective Standing Cover is durable, bulky, and it comes with a kickstand.
New to the Galaxy S9 are the Hyperknit cases. At this point, there’s not much we know about the Hyperknit cases. They are made of a woven fabric, and have already appeared on online stores, although their pricing won’t be confirmed until the launch event. All the leaked cases for the Galaxy S9 will naturally come in multiple colors.
Samsung’s official cases for its flagship phones tend to be quite expensive, but for users who want premium cases such as Alcantara, they are some of the best options. The pricing for these cases is expected to be the same as last year’s cases. The Galaxy S9’s launch is only two weeks away, so we expect to learn more soon.
